Book a symptom-free COVID-19 test

Symptom-free testing is available for everyone.

Anyone who lives or works in Medway should continue to book a coronavirus (COVID-19) symptom-free test. This is especially important if you’re leaving your home for any of the following reasons:

  • going to work
  • to go food shopping
  • for exercise or to socialise outdoors (under the rule of 6 or two households meeting outside)
  • for a medical reason

One in 3 people with COVID-19 have no symptoms. Households are now encouraged to take symptom-free tests twice a week to help prevent further COVID-19 outbreaks across Medway and protect family, friends and colleagues.

Bookings slots are on a first come, first served basis.

Please continue to follow the safety advice to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Medway. Read the current government guidance.

Booking a test

You must complete all bookings individually for each household member. If you have a family of 4, then you must make 4 bookings.

COVID-19 symptoms

Do not book a test if you are self-isolating or have any of the following symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • loss or change of smell or taste.

Most people with COVID-19 have at least one of these symptoms.

Home test kits

Home test kits are available from symptom-free test centres.

Anyone who lives or works in Medway can now collect COVID-19 home test kits.

When you book a symptom-free test at Chattenden, The Oast House, The Deep End or MidKent College testing centres, you will be able to take away free home testing kits for you and your household.

Households using home test kits should test at home twice a week to help prevent further outbreaks of the virus.

We also have a new collection-only site at Miss Twinkletons Fine Coffee House, Rochester ME1 1EW. This site is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm. It is a walk-in service. You do not need to book.

Find out more about home test kits.

Testing for COVID-19 following vaccination

If you've had your first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you should still continue to get regular symptom-free tests. This is because you can spread the virus to others without knowing.

Before you book

To book a test you must:

  • confirm you're eligible
  • confirm you do not have COVID-19 symptoms
  • provide details about yourself including your name, date of birth, email address, postcode and contact details
